Mission

Decision was taken by the president and the board of officers, during the board held in Cascais in September 2012, to reorganize the educational activities of the ESSFN in a comprehensive program covering the whole field of Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery.

It is considered that no primary training provides all the necessary knowledge and expertise to ensure quality and safety in this specific field of neurosurgery, without targeted training arrangements. Therefore it is mandatory that additional competence is acquired by both a specific «theoritical» training (including whenever possible hands on sessions) and a fellowship of a defined duration in an appropriate institution.
